Introducing our new Lean Six Sigma Expert learning path

Lean Six Sigma is a measurable process improvement methodology that was first established in the 1980s. It combines two business principles – Lean and Six Sigma – to support professionals and organisations to:

  • Eliminate problems
  • Remove waste
  • Reduce variations
  • Improve efficiency and working conditions
  • Increase productivity
  • And more…

Introducing our new Lean Six Sigma Expert Learning Path

The learning path is structured in four steps, and then there are three electives – here is an outline of each step:

Step 1 – Lean Six Sigma Green Belt: will teach learners about Six Sigma and organisational goals, and the five phases – define, measure, analyse, improve and control – so that you’ll be able to:

  • Perform data analysis and hypothesis testing
  • Identify potential improvement activities
  • Define efficient operating levels for inputs and outputs
  • And more…

Step 2 – Minitab®: in this step, learners will be taught how to practically apply the most up to date version of the statistical tool, Minitab® 17, and Excel – both of which are used by Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt professionals. This step also uses nine case studies to help contextualise how to use Minitab 17 when solving problems. By the end of this step, you’ll be able to:

  • Use Minitab to process key statistical data operations
  • Export data to Microsoft Office applications
  • Use statistical tools and topics that are applicable to Green and Black Belt projects
  • And more…

Step 3 – Lean Six Sigma Black Belt: this step has been developed by industry experts and will teach learners about the concepts and principles of lean management, so that you can streamline processes to drive value within your organisation. You’ll also be able to:

  • Effectively manage teams
  • Learn how to present projects to stakeholders, including peers and managers
  • Hand over projects to process owners on closure
  • And more…

Step 4 – Harvard Business Publishing case studies: these case studies will enable learners to put their Lean Six Sigma knowledge into practice, using real-world case studies that have been authored by Harvard Business School professors and other top business school educators.

After all four steps have been completed in line with the required criteria, learners will receive a ‘Certificate of Achievement’. As part of the learning path, learners will also have access to three electives: Lean Management, Lean Six Sigma in Healthcare and Lean Six Sigma Application in Information Technology
