The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is an internationally-recognised knowledge-based qualification that enables you to satisfy the needs of modern-day projects, by fully participating in undertakings ranging from individual assignments to large capital projects. Please note: Some of the references in the directed development learning resources direct you to content within the APM BoK. This is not included as standard however you have the option to purchase the body of knowledge as an optional extra in the ILX basket or if you are an APM member a digital version of the book is included in your membership.
Digital ILX course materials: These will be accessible via the ILX portal. Full instructions with a link to the portal will be issued approximately two weeks prior to course commencement.The course materials will be provided in a PDF format and available for download.
Exams are taken online via remote proctor. Two working days prior to course commencement ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued. You will then be able to book a suitable time after your classroom event has finished to undertake your exam. The exam will focus on a candidate’s project management knowledge through four new question types:
The exam will be 2.5 hours long with an optional 30-minute break. There are 40 questions worth a total of 90 marks.
This course is designed for individuals from both the public and private sectors, including those working in the management of projects ranging from individual assignments through to those working on large capital or change projects. Individuals will typically have some pre existing project management knowledge as this is not an entry level qualification.

If you don’t already have any of the experiences referred to above, you might want to take the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification before studying for the APM Project Management Qualification.
By the time you attend this course you must have completed all the mandatory online pre-course. The APM recommend between 70-80 hours preparation for the exam, the online pre-course is designed to take approximately ten hours to complete. In addition, whilst attending your course there will also be examination preparation evening work.
