What you'll learn

This combined course is made up of the Foundation and Practitioner qualifications. Throughout the Foundation portion of the course, you will learn core concepts and techniques for effective benefits management. Then, for Practitioner you will develop the ability to apply this knowledge and best practice in real project scenarios, enabling you to manage benefits in complex environments.

Principles and practices

The Managing Benefits certification includes seven guiding principles and five core practices that form the basis of the framework. Throughout this Foundation & Practitioner course you will learn what the principles and practices are and how they can be applied to your projects to help deliver greater value for your organisation.

The Managing Benefits framework offers a structured approach to the management of benefits from initial identification through realisation to ongoing review. This lifecycle helps ensure that benefits are continuously aligned with your organisation’s strategic objectives and maximised throughout a project’s duration.

What is APMG International Managing Benefits Foundation & Practitioner?

Managing Benefits Foundation & Practitioner provides a structured approach to benefits management. On this combined course, you will learn core skills including benefits identification, categorisation and initial tracking, plus, understand the benefits lifecycle and how this knowledge can be applied in a variety of project scenarios.

What are the exam formats and pass marks for Managing Benefits Foundation & Practitioner?

For Foundation, the exam is multiple choice and closed book. You will have 40 minutes to answer 50 questions and are required to achieve a score of 25 marks or more (50%) to pass.  

For Practitioner, the exam is based on objective testing and is open book (Managing Benefits office manual only). You will have two and a half hours to answer eight questions, each of which is worth 10 marks. To pass, you must achieve a score of 40 marks or more (50%). 

What is the difference between the Foundation and Practitioner qualifications?

The Foundation portion of the course introduces the basics of benefits management, while Practitioner provides advanced training on applying these principles and practices in real-world scenarios.
