Introducing our new DevOps Engineer Learning Path

DevOps was established to bridge the gap between software development teams (dev) and IT operations (ops) teams in 2007 to help reduce the time it takes to deliver applications and services.

The philosophy came from Agile and there are four key principles of DevOps:

  1. Automation of the software development lifecycle
  2. Collaboration and communication
  3. Continuous improvement and minimisation of waste
  4. Hyperfocus on user needs with short feedback loops

What will you learn on our DevOps Engineer Learning Path?

This learning path is structured in three steps, and then there are a number of electives – here’s an outline of each step:

Step 1 – DevOps Training
: this step is designed to prepare you for future successful software development projects, and is structured around the whole software development lifecycle – from requirements analysis through coding to production support. It’ll also teach you best practices for software development and to make the most efficient use of software tools. At the end of this step, you’ll be able to:

  • Integrate and deploy tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, and Maven
  • Configure management tools Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and Saltstack
  • Perform tuning and monitoring using Nagios
  • And more…

Step 2 – Docker Certified Associate (DCA) Certification Training Course:
this step is aligned with the Docker Certified Associate (DCA) Certification body and covers the fundamentals of Docker. By the end of this step, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the basics of Docker and its features
  • Understand tools that support Docker to ease application deployment, continuous integration, service discovery, and orchestration
  • Install and uninstall Docker Enterprise
  • And more…

Step 3 – Container Orchestration using Kubernetes:
this step will teach you about the popular container orchestration tool, Kubernetes. And help you to grasp the key skills, technology, and concepts that a Kubernetes administrator needs to know. On completion of this step, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand Kubernetes core concepts and terminologies
  • Install and deploy Kubernetes cluster
  • Perform auditing and logging the cluster events
  • And more…

After all steps have been completed in line with the required criteria, learners will receive a ‘Certificate of Achievement’ from Simplilearn. As part of the learning path, learners will also have access to these electives:

  • CI/CD Pipeline with Jenkins
  • DevOps on AWS
  • Ansible 2.0 Training course
  • Puppet Training Course
  • AWS Developer Associate

This DevOps Engineer Learning Path is delivered digitally using:

  • Online self-learning: consisting of videos and quizzes
  • Live interactive classes: via live virtual classrooms and live interaction and monitoring
  • Hands-on experience: through final assessment, project work and virtual labs

Why should individual employees and/or teams book this learning path?

Training in this learning path will enable learners to:

  • Advance your career or expand your career prospects in a sought after field
