About the course

Accredited by the APM Group, the two-day AgilePM Practitioner virtual course aims help prepare you for the AgilePM Practitioner examination.

The Practitioner level qualification aims to measure whether those that pass the examination have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the Agile Project Management guidance to be able to apply and tailor it to a given scenario situation.

What is virtual classroom training?

ILX’s virtual instructor-led training combines the personal teaching experience of a classroom, with the ease and flexibility of a virtual environment. Duration

This is an intensive two-day course that helps prepare you for the AgilePM Practitioner examination. The training is conducted via a virtual training environment. You need to ensure that you can satisfy the technical requirements that can be found on our website here.

By the end of the Practitioner element of the course you should be able to:

  • Apply the underpinning philosophy and principles of DSDM in a project situation
  • Appropriately configure the lifecycle of an agile project to a given scenario
  • Produce and evaluate the content of agile products produced during an agile project in a given scenario
  • Apply the following agile techniques in a project situation:
    • Facilitated workshops
    • MoSCoW prioritisation
    • Iterative development
    • Modelling
    • Timeboxing
  • Identify the agile techniques to be used for a given situation within a scenario
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities within an agile project and correctly determine the appropriate personnel to fulfil these roles within a given scenario
  • Understand the mechanisms for control of an agile project which are specific to an agile project
  • Understand in outline how to test, estimate and measure progress in an agile project
  • Describe the agile approach to managing requirements and identify action to rectify problems with requirements within an agile project from a given scenario
  • Roles and responsibilities – the PM view
  • Agile project management through the lifecycle

  • People, teams and interactions
  • Deliver On Time – combining MoSCoW and timeboxing

This is an intensive two-day course that includes:

  • The cost of the AgilePM Practitioner examination (must be taken online via remote proctor within 12 months of purchase)

Materials

Digital ILX course materials: These will be accessible via the ILX portal. Full instructions with a link to the portal will be issued at point of purchase. The course materials will be provided in a PDF format and available for download.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR EXAM

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. Two weeks prior to your course commencement ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued. You then have a choice you can either:

  • Book a suitable time after your virtual classroom event has finished to undertake your exam

OR

  • We currently allocate exam time within the virtual classroom event. So that you can book directly, we will advise you of recommended exam timings as part of the candidate guidance —  this is issued three weeks prior to course commencement

Note: You are responsible for booking your own exam.

Exam format

Practitioner exam format

  • Objective testing
  • 4 questions per paper, 20 marks available per question
  • 40 marks required to pass (out of 80 available) – 50%
  • 2.5 hours duration
  • Open book examination (restricted to the official manual only)

This qualification is aimed at: 

  • Practising project managers
  • Agile team members who wish to become Agile Project Managers

In order to sit the Practitioner exam you must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Agile PM Foundation certificate
  • DSDM Foundation certificate
  • DSDM Advanced Practitioner certificate
