FAQs

Gain confidence in project planning and control with this combined Foundation & Practitioner course, designed to enhance your capabilities in managing successful projects.

What is APMG International Project Planning and Control Foundation & Practitioner?

The PPC Foundation & Practitioner course is designed to progress your project planning and control skills from basic to advanced. You will develop techniques for managing complex projects, including performance tracking, in-depth risk assessment and stakeholder communication.

What are the benefits of completing the Foundation & Practitioner course, rather than doing the training separately?

Completing the combined course offers a structured programme that builds your skills progressively, moving from core project planning principles to advanced control techniques. This continuous approach reinforces your understanding and allows you to apply foundational knowledge directly in more complex areas, enhancing retention and practical application.

It also saves you time, helping to achieve both certifications faster than if taken separately.

How are the Foundation & Practitioner exams structured?

The Foundation exam is multiple choice and closed book. You will have 40 minutes to answer 50 questions, each of which are worth one mark. You need to achieve a score of 25 marks or more to pass (50%).

The Practitioner exam is complex multiple choice and open book, using the Project Planning and Control guide only. You will have 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete 8 questions, which are worth 10 marks each. As with Foundation, the pass mark is 50% so you will need to get at least 40 marks to pass.

How will this certification help my career?

The certification is a valuable asset for advancing your project management career, demonstrating to employers that you have the expertise needed to manage both straightforward and complex projects effectively. Once qualified, you will be well-positioned to take on large projects, lead teams with confidence, and contribute meaningfully to your organisation’s success.
