Course overview

Take a deep dive into the principles and tools needed to enhance your organisation’s manufacturing quality and business processes. The Green Belt training course will give you an understanding of the core principles of Lean Six Sigma and how to use Minitab for practical statistical analysis.

Improve organisational efficiency with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Our Green Belt training course explores the basic principles of Lean Six Sigma and Lean management. You’ll learn how to use Lean principles in process improvement and solving practical business problems. With hands-on case studies and practical exercises, you can turn your theoretical knowledge into real-world experience.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Lead and implement Lean Six Sigma projects
  • Identify an improvement project in the define phase
  • Measure process and product in the measure phase
  • Perform data analysis and hypothesis testing in the analyse phase
  • Identify improvement actions in the improve phase
  • Define operating levels for inputs and outputs in the control phase

What you'll learn

Gain the skills and confidence to lead and implement impactful Lean Six Sigma projects, driving measurable improvements across your organisation. Delivered by our partners, Simplilearn, the course will guide you through four phases: define, measure, analysis, and improve.

The define phase

Learn how to set the foundation for successful Lean Six Sigma projects. Master the define tollgate process to ensure your project goals and objectives are clearly outlined. You’ll explore key tools such as the voice of the process and the voice of the customer, helping you identify critical needs and expectations. By focusing on project selection, you’ll be able to choose initiatives that deliver the greatest value to your organisation.

The measure phase

Develop techniques to establish a clear process baseline and quantify performance. You’ll delve into the measurement information model, learning how to evaluate yield and defects, and apply statistical sampling methods to gather accurate and reliable data. This phase also includes the measuring tollgate, equipping you with the knowledge to assess process performance effectively and ensure measurable outcomes.

The analysis phase

Focus on uncovering the root causes of process inefficiencies using data-driven insights. This involves process value analysis and exploratory data analysis, enabling you to interpret patterns and identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll also gain expertise in applying inferential statistics to support root cause analysis, enhancing your decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.

The improve phase

The improve phase introduces you to strategies for implementing solutions that drive meaningful change. You’ll work through the improve tollgate to validate potential improvements and ensure they meet project objectives. Learn methods for generating creative and effective solution ideas, helping you address inefficiencies and optimise processes with confidence.

The control phase

Develop skills to sustain and manage improvements over the long term. You’ll explore the use of statistical process control charts to monitor performance and ensure consistency. The control tollgate process will help you embed changes within your organisation, creating a culture of continuous improvement that delivers ongoing value.
