More about the courses

The Association for Project Management has developed a structured project management qualification path that covers all aspects of project management and is based on the APM Body of Knowledge. The qualification scheme has a structured and logical progression, with each certificate building on the previous one.

APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ)

The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) training is the introductory level course. It is designed to provide candidates with a broader understanding of this exciting and challenging discipline. The course builds knowledge of project management and the principles of the profession based on the APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition. It is currently (at time of writing) available in e-learning and virtual learning formats. There are no formal prerequisites for this course.

APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)

The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is an internationally recognised knowledge-based qualification. It builds your portfolio of skills to successfully manage a project undertaking. This course is aligned to the new APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition. The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification is not a prerequisite for the PMQ, though it may be beneficial. APM advises that candidates would benefit from having a minimum of two years’ practical experience in project management. Available in e-learning, classroom, blended, and virtual learning formats.

APM Project Management Qualification for PRINCE2 Practitioners

The APM Project Management Qualification for PRINCE2 Practitioners expands candidates’ breadth of skills for successfully managing projects. The course is only available for professionals who have already gained the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification. The learning is aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition and is designed for those working in both public and private sectors. It covers management of projects ranging from individual assignments right through to large capital or change projects. The course is currently available in a blended learning format consisting of e-learning followed by a 2 day workshop.

Whatever stage you are at in your project management journey, there is an APM qualification to recognise your skills and experience.
