Yes, the AgilePM certification was given a major update in November 2024, aligning it with evolving Agile, project management and business practices. As part of the refresh, AgilePM v3 introduces major updates to its content and structure, aligning with the evolving needs of modern project teams. It features new learning modules and places greater focus on leadership and value delivery.
How does AgilePM v3 differ from v2?
Version 3 introduces several significant updates to the AgilePM framework, including but not limited to:
- Increased focus on delivering project outcomes rather than outputs
- Shift from management to leadership, with new guidance based on the Agile Business
- Consortium’s nine principles
- Greater emphasis on collaboration and collective leadership, moving away from rigid processes towards a more people-centric approach

Who is the AgilePM Foundation course designed for?
The qualification is aimed at anyone looking to increase the agility of their projects in the face of VUCA challenges and environments. It is designed for those new to Agile project management, but you will be expected to have a working knowledge of Scrum prior to undertaking the learning and exam. This Scrum Essentials information is covered with the mandatory pre-course for all live virtual classroom and classroom delegates, and must be completed prior to attending the course.
Is there work I need to complete before attending the AgilePM v3 Foundation course?
Before attending your AgilePM v3 Foundation live virtual or in-person classroom course, you will need to complete about eight hours of online pre-course work. The new AgilePM course assumes you have a working knowledge of Scrum and so we have included our Scrum Essentials eLearning, along with an AgilePM-specific eLearning module for the pre-course work.
The pre-course eLearning will take around eight hours to complete and you must have done all of it before attending your course.
