Course overview

About the course

This fully-accredited blended learning solution has been created to help you attain this qualification awarded by the Association for Project Management. It combines highly interactive multimedia e-learning with an intensive three day workshop, that includes practical exercises and exam techniques in preparation for the formal examination.

The e-learning combines multiple voices, animation and interactive exercises, providing training at a time, pace and location to suit your individual requirements. The workshop builds upon the e-learning element. You will have access to an expert who will help prepare you for the examination. Ample time is allowed within the workshop for attempting sample questions and feedback. 

Important Information

By the time you attend the workshop element of the course you must have completed the e-learning in full.The APM recommends 75 hours preparation for the exam.

Course format

This course includes:

  • PMQ accredited online learning (Directed Development). By the time you attend the workshop element of the course you must have completed the e-learning in full.
  • Attendance at three-day workshop (Guided Learning)
  • Over 40 hours of ILX learning resources (Directed Development)

All learning must be completed prior to taking the exam.

Duration

Please be advised that the APM recommends approximately 75 hours preparation time for the PMQ examination. You must:

  • Complete the online learning is expected to take approximately 40 hours.
  • Attend a three-day workshop
  • Access over 40 hours of additional learning resources to help support exam preparation.

All learning must be completed prior to taking the exam.

By the end of the course, you should:

The PMQ exam is taken online via remote proctor. Two working days prior to course commencement ILX will arrange for an exam voucher to be issued. You will then be able to book a suitable time after your classroom event has finished to undertake your exam. Exam format

The exam will focus on a candidate’s project management knowledge through four new question types:

  • Multiple response (20 questions × 1 mark each)
  • Select from list (5 questions × 2 marks each)
  • Short response (5 questions × 2 marks each)
  • Long response (10 questions × 5 marks each)

The exam will be 2.5 hours long with an optional 30-minute break. There are 40 questions worth a total of 90 marks.

The APM Project Management Qualification is aimed at those with some project management experience, seeking to deepen their career in the field. Ideal for project professionals or those with related qualifications, it offers an opportunity to enhance project management understanding. It's a suitable progression for APM Project Fundamentals Qualification holders.
