The ITIL® 4 Foundation course is a great first step for anyone looking to enter the IT service management (ITSM) industry, but it can sometimes be difficult to decide where to go next after securing this qualification.

Building on ITIL 4 Foundation

ITIL 4 Foundation is the prerequisite certification for the other five courses that make up the ITIL Managing Professional and Strategic Leader designations.

After ITIL 4 Foundation

The ITIL 4 syllabus is made up of six courses, all of which aim to educate individuals on the different areas of IT service management.

ITIL 4 Managing Professional

Aimed at digital practitioners in the technology field, the Managing Professional designation equips ITSM professionals with all the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry. It is made up of five different qualifications:

  • ITIL 4 Create, Deliver and Support
  • ITIL 4 Drive Stakeholder Value
  • ITIL 4 High-velocity IT
  • ITIL 4 Direct, Plan and Improve

ITIL 4 Strategic Leader

Designed for senior IT professionals, the Strategic Leader designation gives learners a comprehensive understanding of how IT can affect and influence overall business strategy. It is made up of three qualifications:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation
  • ITIL 4 Direct, Plan and Improve
  • ITIL 4 Digital and IT Strategy
