Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® Qualifications and Training
Pre-requisites
You have to apply to the Project Management Institute (PMI)® before you can sit the PMI-ACP exam (not included with this course). There’s a strict protocol as they have to authenticate that the pre-requisite criteria has been met prior to exam attendance. You will then pay the exam fee directly to the PMI to schedule your exam. In order to understand the PMI process we recommend you review the PMP handbook on the PMI website. To be able to sit this exam, you will need to be able to demonstrate to the PMI that you have:
- A secondary degree or higher.
- 21 hours of training in agile practices.
- At least 1,500 hours of experience working on agile project teams during last three years.
- A minimum of 2,000 hours of general project management experience in the last five years. A current PMP® or PgMP® will satisfy this requirement, but you do not need to have either of these qualifications to apply for
- the PMI-ACP.
Exam format
The format of the exam is as follows:
- Three hours in duration
- Multiple choice
- 120 questions
Every three years, you will need to earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics, in order to maintain your PMI-ACP qualification.
