About the course

How difficult is the ITIL 4 Foundation exam?

ITIL 4 Foundation is considered an entry-level qualification, so should be achievable for those with a limited understanding of the IT service management industry. However, the difficulty of ITIL 4 will vary from person to person depending on their experience level and familiarity with ITSM concepts.

Is ITIL 4 in-demand?

Does ITIL 4 expire?

ITIL 4 qualifications will need to be renewed every three years. To do this you can re-take your ITIL 4 Foundation exam or start training in one of the other certifications which may lead you to the ITIL 4 Managing Professional or Strategic Leader designations.

Exam information for the ITIL 4 Foundation course

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be sent an email invitation within 48 hours of your purchase to register on the PeopleCert portal. Once registered you will be able to book your online exams at a date and time of your choice. You are responsible for booking your own exams.

ITIL 4 Foundation exam format

  • Closed book
  • 60 minutes duration
  • 40 questions each worth 1 mark
  • Pass mark 65% or higher (26 marks or above)
